Project Overview

As part of Network Rail’s wider North East West Programme (NEWP) Phase 4 electrification works, ADY-HV was appointed to deliver critical jointing and termination support for the 25kV single-phase traction network. Our scope included the supply, preparation, and installation of 3M straight joints and terminations, delivered both in trackside environments and within substation compounds.
This phase of NEWP focused on expanding electrified routes in the North of England, improving operational efficiency, capacity and sustainability of regional passenger and freight lines. ADY-HV’s experienced team delivered all works in accordance with railway electrical standards, ensuring safe, robust, and long-term performance of the newly installed HV infrastructure.

Scope of Works

  • Installation of 25kV straight joints and terminations using 3M-approved kits.
  • Jointing activities delivered both on-trackside routes and within traction substations.
  • Full cable preparation, stripping, alignment and phasing validation prior to assembly.
  • Interface coordination with Network Rail OLE teams and substation contractors.
  • Adherence to installation tolerances, torque settings, and shrink profiles to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Contribution to energisation readiness through installation QA and visual inspection support.
